Last updated: 1 October 2026
1. Who we are
This website, baleeorg.com (the “Website”), is operated by Balee Organization, a public charitable trust registered with the Sub-Registrar (SR V-A), Hauz Khas, New Delhi on 6 April 2022 (“Balee”, “we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal data when you visit the Website, donate, apply for membership, volunteer or contact us.
We process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under them.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need:
- Details you give us — name, email address, mobile number, city and state, PAN (only if you request a tax-exemption receipt), your message, chosen cause, membership type and volunteering interests.
- Payment information — amount, date, transaction ID and payment status. Card, UPI, net-banking and wallet details are entered directly on Razorpay’s secure checkout. We never see or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or banking passwords.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected through standard server logs and essential cookies to keep the Website secure and working.
3. How we use your information
- To process donations and membership fees and send receipts and confirmations.
- To issue tax-exemption receipts and file statutory returns, where applicable.
- To respond to your enquiries, volunteer applications and partnership requests.
- To keep accounting records required for our annual audit and by law.
- To send updates about our work — only if you have agreed, and you can opt out at any time.
- To protect the Website and our donors against fraud and misuse.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to our charitable objectives.
4. Payments through Razorpay
Online payments on this Website are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited, a payment aggregator authorised by the Reserve Bank of India. When you pay, you share your payment details directly with Razorpay, and its handling of that data is governed by Razorpay’s Privacy Policy. Razorpay shares with us only the information needed to confirm and reconcile your payment.
5. Sharing of information
We share personal data only with:
- Razorpay and banks, to process payments and refunds;
- our hosting, email and IT service providers, who act on our instructions;
- our Chartered Accountant / auditors, for the statutory audit;
- government or tax authorities, courts or law enforcement, when required by law.
6. Cookies
The Website uses essential cookies needed for it to function and for security. If we add analytics cookies in the future, we will update this policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the Website may then not work properly.
7. Data retention
Donation and payment records are kept for at least 8 years, as required by Indian tax and accounting laws. Enquiries and volunteer applications are kept for as long as needed to respond and for up to 3 years afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them sooner (subject to legal requirements).
8. Data security
The Website uses SSL encryption (HTTPS). Access to personal data is limited to authorised trustees and staff. While we take reasonable security measures, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
9. Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct or update your personal data, to withdraw your consent, or to erase data that we are not legally required to keep. You may also nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf. To make a request, contact our Grievance Officer below. We will respond within 30 days.
